Animal Health

Managing a cattle herd is a lot of responsibility. We must keep them safe from predators, aid in good breeding practices, monitor nutritional intake, help keep them free from diseases and much more.

This section of the Dexter Cattle Knowledge Base will discuss Disease prevention. Cattle (Bovine) diseases can also affect humans, when the disease is transmissible in a Zoonotic way. Therefore it is important to prevent diseases not only for the health and success of your farm, but for the safety of your family as well.

Texas Animal Health Commission has helpful documents to read on animal diseases.

The Center for Food Security and Public Health also has helpful fact sheets to read on various animal diseases.
