How to TRANSFER your Dexter Cattle with the ADCA- Online application

* Definitions at the bottom of this page

  • Step 1: Gather information needed for the transfer application
    • Verify who the Owner of Record is by searching the ADCA Pedigree site. Write down the listed owner's membership # and name as it is listed on the site. Click HERE to help you find member info on the pedigree site, regarding ownership of a specific ADCA Dexter.
    • Verify spelling of buyer's name as they want it listed in the association. I strongly encourage married couples to both be included on the ownership, in the case of emergency. If the buyer will be a brand new member of the ADCA, simply type “0000” for their member #. The Registrar will assign them a real # when she processes the application.
    • Verify buyer contact information, including address, phone and email
    • Reference the Dexter's ADCA certificate when doing transfer application.
  • Step 2: ADCA Transfer Application
  • Step 3: Checkout with PayPal at the bottom

*Starting June 1st, 2022, the seller or buyer can now complete the transfer application on sold Dexters. This new rule was voted on by the Board of Directors during the April monthly board meeting

Transfer Policy Update effective 6/1/2022 Beginning June 1, 2022 transfer of an ADCA registered animal can be initiated by either the buyer or seller. All sellers who do not want sold animals to be transferred, for whatever reason, will have until June 1st, 2022 to submit a “Deceased Animal Report” which can be found on the ADCA website under the tab Forms/Info see link: Deceased Animal Report

If you bought an ADCA registered Dexter after February 6th, 2019, and the seller did not transfer the animal to you, you the buyer can now submit the transfer application for your ADCA registered animal (not marked deceased) starting on June 1, 2022. The ADCA Board and Officers will continue to encourage sellers to complete the transfer when selling an animal however it will no longer be a requirement. If you have any questions regarding this change please contact your regional director.

The new transfer rule does NOT change the First Owner Policy on registering Dexter Cattle

Read HERE for information on the First Owner Policy.
